The most important property of LUCEL® POM is its excellent wear resistance, high toughness even at low temperatures and very good dimensional stability.
General info
Lucel® is the name of polyoxymethylene (POM) produced by LG Chem with a gas-phase polymerisation. They are also called acetal copolymers.
In addition they have:
- Outstanding balance of mechanical properties
- Resistance to creep
- Highest fatigue resistance
- Resistance to organic chemicals and hot water
Typical Lucel® applications are:
- Automotive: water valve parts, door locks, door handles, washer pump nozzles
- E&E: fan motor housings, printer mechanisms, gas meter components
- Industrial parts: hot water housings, alarm clock bases, gear housing, pressure containers
The Lucel® POM portfolio includes non-reinforced grades, impact modified grades, wear and friction modified grades, glass filled grades, conductive carbon black filled grades.
