Xyron® is amorphous poly(p-phenylene oxide) (PPO) or poly(p-phenylene ether) (PPE) which has a Tg of 215°C. Therefore, it is a high temperature plastic. Since the processing of Xyron® is difficult in its pure form, it is mostly compounded with PS, PA or PPS and, in order to modify the properties, it is filled with glass or minerals.

The Xyron® portfolio includes non-reinforced and reinforced grades which are mixed with other polymers:

• PPE/PS
• PPE/PA
• PPE/PPS

CD ROM drive trays, CD drive chassis, AC adaptor cases as well as sanitary applications such as water pumps.
