Polymer type PP compounds

RamOfin® PP is the trade name for polypropylene compounds produced by POLYRAM.

General info

There are 3 kinds of PP called PP homo, PP copo, PP random. PP homopolymers are hard and rigid materials but have poor impact resistance, PP copo has high impact strength and medium stiffness. On the other hand, PP random has lower rigidity than PP homo but higher transparency and is more flexible.

The main properties of PP resins are:

  • Stiffer, higher heat resistance than PE families
  • Can reach the stiffness/gloss of HIPS
  • Impact of super tough grades equals HDPE
  • Shrinkage 1.5% to 2.0% (semi crystalline)
  • Lower UV stability
